Mr. Write is a great book and such fun for fellow authors to read!! ESPECIALLY romance authors…but for readers—romance readers AND others—it’s some insight into writing romance.”
– Heather Ashby, award-winning author of the Love in the Fleet Series

SUMMARY:

Mr. Write is a 2022 HOLT Medallion, and a 2022 Maggie Award Finalist!

Can you keep a secret?

MAYA GARDNER is an erotic fiction writer with a secret. JAKE EDWARDS is an investigative reporter who might just expose it.

At a national romance writers’ conference in New York City, Maya meets Jake, who is there on assignment for a local newspaper. The two are immediately drawn together. But can Maya put her heart on the line like the heroines in her books? And can Jake regain his journalistic chops and hang on to the girl at the same time?

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

This book idea came to me while at the RWA national conference in New York City in 2015. It was a dream come true to finally see and experience the Big Apple.

I would like to thank my family for going to the US with me, and entertaining themselves in New York City while I attended workshops, did agent/editor pitch sessions and raided the Goodie Room.

I would also like to thank my AMAZING critique partner, Heather Ashby, who as usual suffered through my pantsing through another manuscript. Her encouragement and feedback throughout the writing process has been invaluable, as always. Her friendship is even more cherished. Thank you also to my fellow Brisbane writer and friend, Joanne Lockyer, for beta reading this manuscript–your insight helps give my characters more depth! And thanks a bunch to my beta reader, Thorndyke Law–thanks for the chat after!
