Summary:
Mattie Leferve—Oregon Ospreys defenseman and hopeless romantic. Dr. Cherry Sheffield—the primary heir to Sheffield Enterprises, reconstructive surgery resident, and a huge hockey fan—but not of hockey players.
For Mattie, the NHL is his ticket out of the family farm in Quebec. After a heroic save during a big game, he is left with a facial injury that needs treatment and weeks of recovery. Luckily, it’s the post-season and his doctor is the woman he fell for at first sight—the rich, successful and beautiful, Dr. Cherry Sheffield.
But Cherry had left her wild ways behind, and the consequences of her teen years has put her off relationships, especially with hockey players. With a residency to complete, Sheffield Enterprises to run, and her grandmother’s dementia worsening, a cocky hockey player is the last thing she needs.
When an unlikely friendship blossoms between Mattie and her grandmother, Cherry finds herself spending more time with him than she bargains for. Mattie’s ready to commit to a lifetime, but would he still feel the same when he finds out Cherry’s secrets?
